Matt Ghio

Matt GhioMatt Ghio has exclusively assisted employees in many aspects of employment law for over a decade. He has successfully represented clients in litigation ranging from non-compete agreements, failure to pay sales commissions, sexual harassment and assault, pregnancy, age, race, disability, and national origin discrimination, as well as retaliation, whistleblowing and wrongful discharge matters. In addition, Matt represents clients before several federal and state governmental agencies including the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, andthe Merit Systems Protection Board.

Prior to private practice, Matt served as a law clerk to the Honorable James H. Allen, United States Magistrate Judge, Western District of Tennessee, and as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Dowd, Jr., Missouri Court of Appeals - Eastern District.

He received his law degree, in 1994 from Saint Louis University and his Honors A.B. in History and Art History, magna cum laude, in 1991 from Saint Louis University. He received the David Grant Clinic Award for his work in the civil clinic during law school. Matt is admitted to practice in the state of Missouri, as well as U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, and the Federal and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Matt is actively involved in several community organizations, including Landmarks Association of St. Louis, Inc. and the Justine Petersen Housing and Reinvestment Corporation. He received the 2005 President's Award from Landmarks Association. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, and the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).
