Mr. Chackes graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 1976. In addition to being in private practice since 1976, Mr. Chackes served as a full-time Assistant Professor at Washington University School of Law from 1984-88, teaching litigation and negotiation skills, and was Staff Attorney and Managing Attorney for Missouri Protection and Advocacy Services from 1988-92, a state-wide disability rights organization.
Ken Chackes currently practices in the following areas:
Sexual Abuse Litigation: representing individuals who have been sexually abused by priests, other clergy, teachers, counselors, and others.
Special Education Law: representing families in disputes about the education of children with disabilities; serving as a Hearing Officer for special education hearings and as a mediator under contracts with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Discrimination, Disability and Other Civil Rights: representing individuals with claims of discrimination and harassment in employment and housing, and persons with disabilities seeking accommodations.
Mediation: serving as mediator since 1999 in all types of civil litigation.
